Achieve 3000

Provides daily differentiated instruction for non-fiction reading that is tailored to each student's Lexile reading level. This program is available year round and provides practice in language arts skills. Smarty Ants

Smarty Ants is an effective, research-driven solution that differentiates instruction in foundational reading skills and accelerates student achievement – all in an engaging, interactive, online learning environment. The program continuously evaluates each student’s exact skill level, learning temperament, and learning pace. Based on this information, the adaptive content system automatically delivers the right level of skill instruction and practice to keep learners in the zone of proximal development. No two students will approach the content or process in the same manner, but they all will reach the same critical milestones for primary-grade literacy success and emerge as confident, capable readers ready for the challenges of second grade and beyond. Check out http://www.achieve3000.com/learning-solutions/foundational-literacy/ for more information and some informative videos.

Ke Ala Waiakeawaena

Ke Ala Waiakeawaena is an outcomes focused process that was developed by school staff to help staff and students to develop a plan to address a concern whether personal, class or school-wide.   The steps of Ke Ala Waiakeawaena are:

  1. Analyze - What do you hope to achieve?  How long will it take?
  2. Design - What will you do and how will you know if you reached your goal?
  3. Develop - What is your plan?  What did you need to reach your goal?
  4. Implement - Put your plan into action.
  5. Evaluate - Reflect!  Did you meet your goal?

To assist teachers and students, there is a Ke Ala Waiakeawaena poster in each classroom visually representing the 5 steps of the process.
